About Ian
As an award-winning photographer, Ian was pursuing a career in the visual arts. But after building a house with his father one summer, it was an easy decision to leave the darkroom behind. Being able to create art that was functional, while also working outside, was a dream job.
Over the next 25 years, he worked primarily in remodel on older homes. From plumbing to electric, drywall to roofing, and framing to finish carpentry, he learned everything.
Ian first arrived in the Asheville area in 1997 and now lives with his wife Liz in the River Arts District. They co-own 7th Story are currently remodeling yet another turn of the (last) century home.
